About

Alexis Vayianos is a visual artist. In 2002, he studied music, specializing in piano at the Frankfurt Conservatory in Germany. Two years later, he moved to Athens to study Fine Art at the School of Fine Arts, from which he graduated in 2009 with an honors degree. His practice intersects between painting, stage design, installation art and performing arts. In recent years he has been intrigued by ideas of spectatorship, dysfunctionality in the arts, principles of spectacle and landscape, and how they meet in his work. Alexis vayianos has had solo and group shows in Cyprus, Athens, London and Lebanon. Since 2013 he has been collaborating with visual artist Elena Kotasvili, and they are the co-founders of CATHRINE, an art organisation that encourages cross-discipline art projects and unlooked-for collaborations.
